1. GARDEN TOOL CARE

Take home a new skill and a snack!

“A gardener is only as good as their tools...” or something like that! Learn how to properly clean, sharpen, and store your tools - including shovels, rakes, hoes, shears, knives, and more. You’ll be ready for a productive season!

Take home seeds!

As part of UMD’s annual “Greenfest,” stop by the Arboretum and Botanical Garden’s table to learn
about how to support pollinators. Complete a coloring sheet and receive a packet of seeds to grow your own pollinator meadow.

Take home planning materials!

Get an overview of how to plan for a productive gardening season, including how much you should plant, when to plant it, how to space it, and how to rotate crops annually. Worksheets and handouts will be provided so you can design a plan for your own garden.
