In Search of Prestige

December 5, 2013

In searching for his internship site, Institute of Applied Agriculture Student Steve Brew wanted a golf course with a prestigious reputation, and he found it at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, MD.  A Golf Course Management major, Brew said he learned about the internship through one of assistant superintendents that he knew, and Brew began preparing for the job in March.

His duties included daily golf course maintenance, hand watering, and morning preparation.   Brew also helped replace bunker drainage. He said, “This summer I learned personnel management tips and proper management techniques to run the staff.”
