In today’s work environment, younger workers are likely to leave a company after a year or two, but the IAA’s Tyler Brunk is an exception.  A hard-working golf course management major, Brunk has been employed at Cattail Creek Country Club in Glenwood, Maryland since 2005.

To advance his career options, Brunk enrolled in the Institute of Applied Agriculture last year and has continued to work at Cattail Creek, which was the obvious choice for his required internship.  As an intern, Brunk was given more responsibility and insights into personnel management and daily operations.   He also learned proper hand watering techniques.

Brunk described his internship as “very valuable,” and he plans to incorporate his gained knowledge into his course work and future career. After Brunk finishes school, he plans to look for assistant superintendent job, possibly in a different geographical area.
