IAA Welcomes Two New Faculty Members

August 15, 2013

The Institute of Applied Agriculture (IAA) welcomes two new faculty members this fall.  Meredith Epstein is our new Sustainable Agriculture Lecturer and Advisor and Jason Entsminger is our new Agricultural Business Management Lecturer and Advisor.

Epstein comes to us as a Maryland native, calling herself “a true Maryland girl” in a recent interview. She was raised in Montgomery County, Md. and went to St. Mary’s College of Maryland where she earned her B.A. in Environmental Studies. Well qualified, Epstein also holds a M.S. in Agriculture, Food & Environment from Tufts University and a Certificate in Ecological Horticulture from the University of California Santa Cruz. She brings five years of organic fruit and vegetable production experience with her.  Epstein believes that farmers have a place in higher education, and we are excited to see her ideas grow here at the IAA.

Entsminger is making the move from Reno, NV, to Maryland and bringing his many degrees from the University of Florida, the University of Nevada and Universiteit Gent. Trained internationally, he brings a larger perspective to our students during a time when the industry is globalizing. Entsminger is also multi-lingual speaking English, French, Italian and some German and Spanish. We look forward to how his international experience can better our students.

Please join us in welcoming our new faculty.
