New Student Orientation

Fearless ideas start here.

Congratulations and welcome to campus, first-year IAA Terps! We are excited to welcome you to the IAA. At New Student Orientation, you will meet your advisor, get to know other students, and register for classes.

All incoming IAA students are required to attend and participate in New Student Orientation. Participants are required to remain for the entirety of the event. Students must bring an official photo ID to Orientation.

Prior to Orientation, students must activate their UMD computer accounts and submit a completed Immunization Record Form to the University Health Center (UHC).

All students who have recently graduated from high school are required to have an official transcript verifying graduation sent to the IAA.

Additionally, all UMD students are required to have health insurance. If you already have health insurance coverage, submit a Health Insurance Waiver to avoid being charged for UMD’s Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP).

Incoming Agriculture Forward (Ag Forward) students are required to take the University's Math Placement Test prior to Orientation. Certificate-seeking students do not complete this step.

Be prepared! Use our New Student Orientation Success Checklist as a to-do list leading up to Orientation.
