Welcome to the IAA learning community, where students come first and everyone is treated like family. Get to know us and our students by visiting our Prospective Students page, liking us on Facebook, and watching some student and alumni interviews. You are encouraged to request information about our areas of study, attend an IAA Open House, or set up an appointment to meet with an advisor. You will quickly discover that the IAA creates possibilities and helps you build the career you want.
Since its inception in 1965, the IAA has focused on hands-on agricultural education. We continually ask how we can better prepare students for careers managing and leading ag enterprises. Working closely with industry personnel, many of whom are IAA alumni, our faculty stay current and connected to their industries, which in turn links students to networking opportunities and jobs. In fact, more than 90% of our students have jobs in their fields of study by the time they graduate.
Students benefit greatly from our summer internship program. Whether on a golf course, professional sports field, farm, landscaping crew, entrepreneurial venture, or government agency, internships provide students with leadership experience and new learning perspectives.
The IAA program includes eight concentrations in three key areas of study: Agricultural Business Management and Leadership, Ornamental Horticulture and Landscape Management, and Turfgrass and Golf Course Management. You may find our new Agricultural Leadership and Communication concentration an exciting way to advocate for agriculture without going into production agriculture. Our popular Sustainable Agriculture concentration is growing with the next generation of innovative, urban and small scale farmers. The Landscape Management and Horticulture curricula are attracting young, eager entrepreneurs into the green industry, and our Turfgrass and Golf Course Management concentration is nationally recognized.
How can we help you? Let us know. We look forward to meeting you.
