Southern Maryland Ag Marketing Conference

The Southern Maryland Agricultural Development Commission (SMADC) is excited to host the first ever Southern Maryland Ag Marketing Conference on Saturday, March 30th at the College of Southern Maryland in Prince Frederick.

This conference is designed for both beginning and experienced growers and farmers looking to brush up on their marketing skills before the 2019 season takes off.

The Institute of Applied Agriculture will be covering current students' conference registration costs. You must complete this form by noon on March 25, and we will register you as long as seats are still available. 

Four tracks with breakout sessions will be offered including:

  • New and Beginning Farm Enterprises
  • Advanced Marketing Skills
  • State-Wide Trainings
  • 'On the Horizon' - New or popular industries including Industrial Hemp, Urban Agriculture, Grains, and Agritourism.

They are excited to announce the keynote speaker, Kellie Hinkle, new Chief of Tourism in Charles County.

"Hinkle has expertise in assisting agricultural and rural businesses with the development of business plans and securing financing to start or expand operations. She most recently served as the acting assistant director for the Loudoun County Department of Economic Development. She previously served as an agricultural development officer for Loudoun County Department of Economic Development and Jefferson County Development Authority, as well as has a background in marketing and teaching." - Press Release, Charles County Government
