MAEF accepting applications for the Seibel Scholarship

The Maryland Agricultural Education Foundation, Inc. (MAEF) is now accepting applications for the 2013 Seibel college scholarship

ABOUT:

Dr. Ronald J. Seibel Scholarship:

This $1,000 scholarship, established by the family and friends of Dr. Seibel in recognition of his 26 years of service as Director of the Institute of Applied Agriculture at the University of Maryland, will be awarded to a student enrolled in a Maryland college agricultural program during the school year 2013-2014. Preference will be given to Maryland residents with an FFA background enrolled in the Institute of Applied Agriculture. Other eligible applicants are those attending a community college or four year institution leading to a degree in agriculture education.


TO APPLY: Contact MAEF or the Institute of Applied Agriculture for an application. The scholarship application is available in electronic form or will be forwarded via fax or mail upon request. Look for postings on the Maryland FFA website at www.mdffa.org and the MAEF website at www.maefonline.com. 

All completed applications and supporting documents must be mailed in advance of the deadline to:

Emailed applications will not be accepted.

GENERAL INFORMATION:
A) Scholarships will be paid directly to the institution where the recipient is enrolled
B) All applications must be postmarked no later than April 12th
C) Scholarship Applicants must submit the following items:
1. A completed 2013 MAEF Seibel Scholarship Application form
2. The applicant’s most recent high school or college transcript


CRITERIA:

The following applies to the Seibel scholarship:

A) Applicants with an FFA background enrolling in a two year program will be given preference
B) Acceptance and/or enrollment in a state approved agriculture program is required
C) Previous scholarship winners will be allowed to reapply
D) To reapply, a new application will be required
