November 4, 2014

Jack Boniface is currently a student enrolled in the Institute of Applied Agriculture (I.A.A) at the University of Maryland studying Agricultural Business Management. He did his internship this summer at Mid-Atlantic seeds. He was there from May26 to August 21 delivering seed, assisting in plant operations, running of the plant and cleaning seed. Boniface used what he learned from his 1st year at IAA and applied it to his work, and real world scenarios, which made him stand out. He gained new skills such as mix chemical tanks for seed treatments, plant test plots, determining different varieties of crops and customer service.  These skills will go along way in the field he wants to pursue. He has always had an interest in agronomy. The experience he gained from the internship allows him now to use for his future studies to apply what he encountered to make his work more efficient, which will go along way in his future career.

Boniface enjoyed being able to watch the crops grow from seeds he planted to important test studies that will help make crops more efficient. Farmers appreciate watching what they planted grow because of all the hard work and pain to make it happen Boniface worked at Mid-Atlantic seeds for the experience in agronomy. Also it was a small seed company with a lot of opportunities. Boniface plans on pursuing his dream of agronomy as a crop consultant.
