Online Non-Credit Courses

Enhance Your Career in Landscape Management and Turfgrass Science.

The Institute of Applied Agriculture (IAA) offers online non-credit courses in a 15-week format during Fall (September-December) and Spring (February-May) semesters. These non-credit courses consist of Workshops (similar to traditional college classes) and self-paced Green Industry Training modules.

The online non-credit workshops satisfy the educational requirements needed to take the Maryland Pesticide Applicator exam, and some modules qualify for recertification.

Workshops last for 15 weeks, and consist of a live lecture with an audio soundtrack linked to a set of PowerPoint notes, online quizzes and chats, homework assignments, and exams. A minimum score of 70% is needed to satisfy the Maryland Department of Agriculture’s (MDA) educational requirements.

Canvas and Adobe software programs allow easy access to class information. Students will need to budget 12 to 15 hours on average per week to complete each workshop.

You may register online for upcoming workshops. Read Workshop course descriptions.
