Hally Sablosky of Crossroads Community Food Network, and Nick Stavely of Community Foodworks

Join us at the IAA for this week's free and open-to-the-public Sustainable Ag Tuesday talk:

"Farmers Market Incentive Programs: Encouraging low-income families to bring fresh, local, and nutritious food to the table"

Presented by:
Hally Sablosky, Crossroads Community Food Network
Nick Stavely, Community Foodworks

Hally and Nick will provide an overview of two non-profit organizations' creative incentive programs - which allow individuals and families to use federal nutrition benefits to buy fresh food at Maryland and DC farmers markets. They will lead a discussion on the challenges and benefits of such programs in increasing food access, as well as opportunities for improvement and getting involved.

Sustainable Agriculture Tuesdays are part of the campus-wide Sustainable Tuesdays lecture series, co-sponsored by the Institute of Applied Agriculture, the School of Architecture, and the Office of Sustainability.
