Youth Garden Manager at Brainfood in DC

Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

Founded in February 1999, Brainfood is a community-based youth development
organization that uses food to engage, empower, and employ teens and young
adults in DC. The Brainfood Youth Garden was built in 2012 and currently
serves as an educational space for youth to learn about small scale urban
agriculture. The garden also sources Brainfood programs with organic, locally
grown produce.

Position Responsibilities:

The Garden Manager will plan, maintain, and develop Brainfood’s Youth Garden.
The Garden Manager will maintain and update database records, including
tracking harvest and establishing other record keeping systems. The work
performed should encompass approximately 10-15 hours per week, including on-
site and planning time, and may also involve assisting with coordinating off-
site volunteers, if needed.

Application Instructions:

Position starts in January 2017 at 10-15 hours per week, with the possibility
of working up to 30 hours during spring and summer. Position is part-time at
the rate of $15/hour.
