Scholarship Description

The Maryland Sheep Breeders Association in conjunction with the
Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival are offering two scholarships in the
amount of $500 each to students who have been accepted or are in the
process of applying for continuing education at a college or university, a
technical or vocational school. Payment will be made upon provision of school acceptance documentation and /or evidence of attendance.

The scholarships will be awarded at the Maryland State Fair during the
Judging Awards Program and the winners will be honored at the Annual
Maryland Sheep Breeders dinner in October.

Eligibility Requirements

1. Experience and involvement with the sheep industry (e.g. 4-H, FFA,
Family Business, Make It with Wool, etc.)
2. Industry compatible career goals
3. Community service activities
4. Leadership and/or extra-curricular involvement
5. Official High School or College Transcripts
6. Essay (500 words-How has the sheep industry impacted your life?) 
7. Letters of recommendation (2)

All academic majors will be considered, but priority will be to agricultural majors and to those applicants who are members or whose families are members of the Maryland Sheep Breeders
