Maryland Grain Producers Scholarship

Scholarship Description

The purpose of this award is to support students interested in pursuing an agriculture-related career. Up to four students will be awarded scholarships in the amount of $2,500 each ($1,250 for each semester). 

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must be a resident of Maryland and be enrolled or accepted to a 4-year institution working toward a BS degree, or enrolled and accepted to a 2-year institution with an agricultural program.

The applicant or the applicant's immediate family must be involved in the production of grain in Maryland. Selections are based on the student's agricultural background, family farm involvement, financial need, grade point average, agricultural-related studies, career goals, and extracurricular activities.

Prior scholarship winners will be considered, however the award will be given to the non-recipient if the top scores are of equal value. The scholarship will only be awarded to a recipient twice. Students whose applications were declined in prior years are encouraged to reapply.
