Delmarva Poultry Industry Scholarship Program

One or more undergraduate scholarships in the amount of $1,500-$4,000 will be awarded to a Delmarva resident who is an undergraduate student at any accredited, degree-granting institution, with an academic major in a subject relevant to Delmarva’s poultry industry and who is pursuing a career path leading to employment in some segment of Delmarva’s poultry industry.
The program also is open to high school seniors on the Delmarva peninsula who have been accepted to any accredited, degree-granting institution and who are pursuing a career path leading to employment in some segment of Delmarva’s poultry industry.
Previous recipients, if still eligible, may reapply.
The applicant must be a student in good standing at an accredited institution within the United States or in the case of graduating high school seniors, accepted to an accredited institution within the United States.
An official transcript must accompany your application and in the case of high school seniors, proof of college acceptance must also be included.
An advisor or faculty reference will be contacted. It is the student’s responsibility to be sure the reference has the student’s permission to release information.
Scholarship recipients will be selected by a committee of representatives from Delmarva Poultry Industry, Inc. (DPI). Preference will be given to applicants planning a career in any segment (live production, processing, sales, transportation, office management, accounting, etc.) of Delmarva’s poultry industry. Preference may be given to students from families that either are members of DPI or own a business that is a member of DPI. For membership information, go to www.dpichicken.org and click membership.

Applications are typically due by April 1st on an annual basis. Late, incomplete, and/or handwritten applications will not be considered. Applicants may wish to contact DPI at the above number or e-mail address to be sure that their application was received.
