Students may download the application or pick up a hard copy in Room 0108 of Symons Hall. The Office of Financial Aid determines eligibility and award distribution. Please submit your application by June 1 to ensure that you receive your financial aid package before Fall classes begin.

Completed forms can be emailed to Hollin Roberts at, or sent to the address at the bottom of the form.

Loan terms:

  • Amount is not to exceed the limit on financial need (as determined by your FAFSA application).

  • Repayment begins nine months after the recipient ceases to be at least a half-time student at UMD, and ends 10 years later.

  • The remaining payments will be fully amortized over the final eight years.

  • If the loan is not paid in full by 10 years, a 5% annual finance charge will be assessed on the unpaid balance.
