These workshops satisfy the educational requirements needed to take the Maryland Pesticide Applicators Exam. These workshops consist of a live lecture with an audio soundtrack linked to a set of PowerPoint notes, online quizzing and chats, homework assignments, and exams. A minimum score of 70% is needed to pass these workshops to meet Maryland Department of Agriculture (MDA) educational requirements.

    1. Fall Workshops: Registration due by August 15th
    2. Spring Workshops: Registration due by January 15th

    Online Training Modules

The online training modules are self-pacing modules available 24-7 that cover turfgrass science and management. Each module consists of pre- and post- assessments, reading assignments, and lecture information containing an audio soundtrack linked to a set of PowerPoint notes. These modules can be used for various purposes. Two of the modules, Turfgrass Insect Control and Turfgrass Weed Control, satisfy the Maryland Department of Agriculture (MDA) pesticide recertification in Category IIIA (Turfgrass). Also these modules can be used to train or update employees in the latest information. Professional associations such as the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA), Sports Turf Managers Association (STMA), the Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS), and the Maryland Turfgrass Council (MTC) will accept these modules for recertification purposes.
