Register for Online Pesticide Use and Safety Course

Take our Pesticide Use and Safety course this Spring 2018!

Enhance your knowledge of landscape management and turfgrass science.

This spring, the Institute of Applied Agriculture (IAA) is offering its Pesticide Use and Safety workshop course in a 15-week online format.

This non-credit online workshop satisfies the educational requirements needed to take the Maryland Pesticide Applicator exam.

The workshop provides an overview of pesticide use and safety, to include the following topics:

  • environmental protection
  • labeling
  • personal safety and first aid
  • formulation and chemistry
  • equipment use
  • disposal and storage
  • record-keeping
  • liability

The workshop consists of a live lecture with an audio soundtrack linked to a set of PowerPoint notes, online quizzes and chats, homework assignments, and exams. A minimum score of 70% is needed to satisfy the Maryland Department of Agriculture’s (MDA) educational requirements. The cost to register is $400, plus textbooks. Class will begin on Wednesday, January 24, 2018.
