Squash your stress — learn how to garden!

The UMD Community Learning Garden began in 2010 as a graduate student project and has since become a joint venture between undergraduates, graduates, faculty, and staff. The goal of this ongoing project is to encourage people to see green spaces in new ways and use them to their fullest potential.

The Garden is located between the Eppley Recreation Center and the School of Public Health building on the north side of campus. Volunteer "work hours" happen two days per week; participants learn about sustainable growing methods and get to take home a share of the harvest!

No experience is required and garden work hours are open to all majors. Come to work hours and learn alongside other members of the UMD community, or rent your own terraced garden plot.

For more information and meeting times, follow the UMD Community Learning Garden on Facebook. Contact the group directly by emailing umdlearninggarden@gmail.com.
